Here are the answers to some of the most
Frequently Asked Questions our firm receives.

HOW DO I GET TO YOUR OFFICE?

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE MY TAX RETURN?

We can e-mail you an organizer with instructions on how to fill out the organizer along with a list of documents that will need to be sent to us. We would also like copies of your last two years of tax returns if you are a new client.

WHAT IF I NEED TO FILE AN EXTENSION?

If you are not able to file your tax return by the due date, you may be able to get an automatic 6-month extension. Please be aware that an extension does not grant you any extension of time to pay your tax liability.

WILL YOU FILE THE EXTENSION FOR ME?

In order to file a valid extension, 90% of the taxes due must be paid with the extension. Due to lack of information to complete the returns, penalties may be incurred with extensions. Please contact us as early as possible if you need an extension.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO FILE THE EXTENSION FOR ME?

We must have all tax information by March 25 to accurately estimate the taxes due. If you are unable to provide the necessary information to us, please e-mail us requesting an extension with no payment due. Please understand there may be penalties and interest associated with underpayment of taxes due with an extension if you are unable to provide us with accurate information to estimate your income.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY REFUND?

You can check on the status of your refund by calling the number below. Have your tax return in front of you when you call. Federal Refund 1 (800) 829 - 4477; Arizona Refund 1 (800) 352 - 4090.

WHAT IF I CANNOT PAY MY TAX AMOUNT DUE THE IRS?

You may qualify for a monthly payment plan for up to 60 months. However, interest and penalties may still be assessed. Inform us of your wish to obtain an IRS installment agreement. We will submit your installment request form (Form 9465) with your tax return. It may take 45 days for the agreement to be granted.

WHAT IF I GET A LETTER FROM THE IRS?

If you receive a letter from "Uncle Sam" relating to a federal or state tax return, fax or mail it to us immediately. It is not necessary to call first, we will call you after we review the letter and your file.

WHAT IF I AM AUDITED?

In the event of a federal or state audit of a return, we will meet with you to review the issues of the audit, provide research and documentation for the items in questions, and prepare all needed information for the audit.

WILL YOU GO WITH ME TO THE AUDIT?

We actually ask that you let us go and you stay home. We know what the IRS is looking for. We will know all the answers to your return. We don't want them on a fishing expedition with you. We will have you sign a Power of Attorney giving us the right to represent you.

WHAT IF I HAVE A TAX QUESTIONS DURING THE YEAR?

As a regular tax preparation client you may contact us by phone, fax or e-mail as often as necessary during the year for brief tax planning advice. There is no charge for this service. However, for more in depth consultations which require more time, specific research, worksheets, or written opinions, please call to schedule an appointment. Our normal hourly rates will apply to this type of consultation.

HOW LONG SHOULD I KEEP MY TAX RETURNS?

DO YOU WANT MORE TAX CLIENTS?

Yes, however, after March 15th we ask all new clients to sign extension forms. By that time our schedules do not allow us to properly handle your affairs before April 15th.
